I am very proud and privileged to be the principal of Parkside Primary School and to have the opportunity to serve the community of Queensburgh.
We at Parkside believe in developing the whole learner, giving each the opportunity to become the best that he or she can be. We as a school embrace the “Leader in Me” programme based on Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits for Highly Effective People and 7 Habits for Happy Kids by Sean Covey. This is integrated into the school’s core curriculum and everyday language so that it has become part of our school culture and ethos. Our learners have gained skills and self-confidence to succeed as leaders. We have also noticed that our discipline referrals have decreased. Our learners have learnt to; be accountable, responsible, adaptable, creative, work together as a team, make decisions, take initiative and are tolerant of others.
When our learners leave Parkside they are well equipped for their futures careers at high school and the world beyond. We endeavour to help each learner to grow in confidence whilst developing academically, physically and culturally.
As our school creed says;
We love and respect our neighbours
We laugh with friends
